Welcome to VinnerVi. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the VinnerVi browser extension, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By installing the extension or using any part of the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
VinnerVi is a Chrome browser extension that generates translated subtitles for online videos. The Service extracts audio or existing subtitle tracks from supported video platforms (including YouTube, Bilibili, X, TikTok, Dailymotion, and Niconico), transcribes speech using automated speech-recognition technology, translates the resulting text, and overlays the translated subtitles on the video player.
VinnerVi uses state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs) for transcription and translation. While these models produce high-quality results in most cases, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, including mistranslations, unnatural phrasing, or hallucinated text (words or sentences not present in the original audio). This is an inherent limitation of current AI technology.
Transcription and translation quality also depend on factors outside our control, including audio clarity, speaker accent, background noise, domain-specific terminology, and source-language complexity. VinnerVi does not guarantee perfect accuracy. We continuously work to improve quality, but results should be treated as an aid to understanding rather than a certified translation. Quality-related concerns do not constitute grounds for credit refunds; refunds are issued only for technical failures (see Section 4).
You sign in to VinnerVi using Google OAuth. We store your Google account identifier and email address solely to manage your account, track your credit balance, and communicate service-related information. We do not store your Google password.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google account linked to VinnerVi. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
VinnerVi operates on a credit-based system. Credits are consumed each time you submit a translation job. 1 credit = 1 subtitle minute. Jobs in subtitle track mode cost 1 credit per minute; jobs in audio mode cost 3 credits per minute.
New accounts receive a one-time trial grant of free credits. Additional credits can be purchased as a one-time top-up or via a monthly subscription through our checkout page, powered by Stripe. All prices are displayed ex-VAT in US Dollars; VAT is added at checkout for EU/UK customers.
Subscription credits that are not used during the billing period roll over for a limited time (1 extra month for Basic). After the rollover window expires, unused credits from that period are forfeited. Top-up credits do not expire.
Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value. We reserve the right to modify credit pricing or the credits-per-minute rate at any time; any change will apply only to future purchases and jobs.
If a job fails due to a service error on our side, the credits debited for that job will be automatically refunded to your account. We do not offer monetary refunds for purchased credits except where required by applicable law.
To protect our infrastructure and ensure fair resource usage for all users, each video URL is limited to 5 failed attempts per hour per translation mode (Full Audio Translation or Subtitle Translation). This limit applies globally across all users. If a video fails 5 times using a particular mode within one hour, further attempts with that mode will be temporarily blocked. This limit resets automatically after one hour.
Credits consumed by failed attempts are automatically refunded. If you believe a video should work but is hitting this limit, please contact us at support@vinnervi.com.

VinnerVi and its underlying technology, including software, design, and branding, are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.
The video content you process through VinnerVi belongs to its respective rights holders. VinnerVi does not claim ownership of any user-submitted or third-party content. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of translated subtitles complies with the rights of the original content owner.
We collect only the data necessary to operate the Service: your Google account identifier, email address, credit-transaction history, and job metadata (video URL, timestamps, job status). Audio data is processed transiently and is not retained after job completion.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data with payment processors (Stripe) solely to complete transactions you initiate. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
We strive to keep VinnerVi available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that translations will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular use.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VinnerVi and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for credits in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms the Service or other users. Upon termination, any remaining credits in your account are forfeited.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which VinnerVi operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
